SERVICES Plastering/skimming Plastering is the broad term used to describe most of the services we offer. The vast majority of customers require their walls or ceiling Over Skimming with a new coat of plaster to enable them paint straight over it for a smooth crisp finish. If you have a badly cracked, lumpy and unsightly wall, which you are unable to paint because it will show through all the blemishes and marks? We can Unibond (PVA glue)the walls before over skimming, Tape joint or roll scrim over the cracks and re plaster the walls. This makes the walls look as new, and is perfect for painting with no need for the use of lining paper. Drylining Dry lining is the term used for applying plasterboards to your walls with the use of adhesive. This is the perfect way to level up an uneven wall, offering the advantage of a quick drying time in comparison to traditional plastering. Dry lining is also what would be used if you wished to put thermal boards (plasterboard with insulation on them from 22mm to 100mm) on cold walls in your house to increase the amount of heat a room retains. Also sound block plasterboards can be applyed this way to reduce the noise levels from neighbours in terrace houses. once boarded boards can be skimmed or filled and sanded. Artex coverup If you currently have Artex Ceilings from a swirl to a stipple pattern, we can scrape the patterns down, Unibond (PVA Glue) the ceiling and then we will plaster it flat and smooth which can modernize any room. Float & set Browning is the traditional method of plastering solid block walls instead of drylining them. A backing plaster is mixed which can be browning or hard wall, this is then applyed to the wall and ruled flat and level. The browning is then scratched up to prvide a key for the plaster to stick to, the wall is then plastered as normal. Rendering Rendering is sand and cement based coat used predominately on external walls to provide a weather shield, which can be "Rubbed up" into various styles and patterns to suit your requirements, Rendering can also be used internally for example around a fire that is subject to high heat or part of the damp proofing process.
